Question 1

What is the difference between cast and forged iron sets?

Accepted Answer

Cast irons are made by pouring molten metal into a mold, allowing for complex multi-material designs, wide soles, and perimeter cavities that maximize forgiveness. Forged irons are stamped from a single billet of carbon steel, producing a softer, more solid feel at impact and allowing easier loft/lie bending.

Question 2

How do I know if an iron set has too much groove wear?

Accepted Answer

Look for chrome loss in the center of the face (the "sweet spot mark") and rounded groove edges. Our inspection team measures groove depth and rejects sets with excessive wear. We highlight any cosmetic wear honestly in our high-resolution photos.

Question 3

What set makeup should I choose (4-PW vs 5-GW)?

Accepted Answer

Modern irons have stronger lofts (a modern 7-iron is often 28°–30° compared to traditional 34°). For most golfers, a 5-GW set is ideal because a modern 4-iron is very difficult to launch. The included Gap Wedge ensures smooth yardage transitions into your specialty wedges.

Question 4

Can I get the lie angles bent to fit my height?

Accepted Answer

Yes, especially on forged irons or Ping irons with color-coded dot systems. If you are taller than 6’1” or shorter than 5’8”, bending lie angles 1°–2° upright or flat helps the sole sit flush with the turf at impact.

Question 5

Do your iron sets come with matching grips?

Accepted Answer

Whenever possible, our sets feature uniform matching grips. If grips have been replaced or show wear, we detail this in the listing notes and photos so you know exactly what to expect.
